Dealing with open sources of radioactive substances in nuclear medicine is a daily task since contamination due to spills may happen frequently. Proper and safe decontamination management vital procedure. However, regular purchase agents incurs high costs might be toxic their chemical properties. The purpose this study compare graphene oxide, which an environmentally friendly carbon-based material marketable agent, decontaminating spillage. Samples pure 99mTc 131I from the laboratory were spilled on petri dish. spill was immediately decontaminated agent swab varying concentrations oxide swab. initial radioactivity each containing measured using dose calibrator. absorbance spectra sample analysed ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. morphology image observed under field emission scanning electron microscope. For slightly higher, whereas that lower than concentration oxide. had been at range 200 nm 250 ???* transition.
